Performances and Events

Trick or Treating

Each year, on the Friday closest to Halloween, our students are welcomed and encouraged to join us for Trick or Treating! This event begins at 4:00PM, and is open to all enrolled students. Students may wear their costumes, as we visit RES, MCNB Bank, and all of the stores in the Gateway Shopping Center.  Parents and siblings may join us for this event, but a headcount is required one week prior as we supply candy and treats to businesses.

Christmas Performance

Each year, students will learn and perform pieces for our Christmas Performance. Due to COVID, this performance is recorded in house, and students receive a complementary copy to enjoy with their families. Each class will have the opportunity to view the finalized production video before the end of the semester. At this viewing, families are welcome to join us, as Santa visits the class for our end of semester party.

Easter Egg Hunt at Clinch River Farms

One of our favorite events each year is our Easter Egg Hunt at Clinch River Farms. All studio families are encouraged to join us for this evening of family fun. Traditionally, this event occurs on the Tuesday before Easter. Siblings are welcome to participate.

Spring Music Recital

As our music program has grown, we have added an additional performance opportunity for these students. In April, all music students will participate in a semi-formal performance at Richlands Middle School, in the auditorium. Students should wear black and/or white for this performance. Classes included in this performance are:  Children's Choir; Piano I, I, & III; Guitar I, II, & III; Electric Guitar; Strings; and Ukulele.

End of Year Recital

Our End of Year Recital is housed at Clinch River Farms annually, towards the end of May. This outdoor event includes a performance, family meal, awards ceremony, river play, and a bonfire. It is the perfect ending to the semester!

Parades

Each year, the Attitude Arts Academy has the opportunity to participate in numerous community events.  Weather permitting, our students will have the opportunity to participate in either the Richlands High School Homecoming Parade, or the Richlands Christmas Parade.  Though we may participate in both parades occasionally, we typically select one per season.

Fairs and Festivals

The Attitude Arts Academy will occasionally select a group of students to perform at various fairs and festivals throughout the school year and summer months.  A few of the locations include the Tazewell County Fair, the Richlands Freedom Festival, and the Bill Mitchell Scholarship Festival.
